Sound design is much more than simply stitching effects together. In every production I try to strengthen the story with carefully chosen and self-recorded effects and tonal elements. You will not find a plain little ‘plop’ in my work.

CHUNCK brings your videos to life with the right sound. Whether it is light sound design for an explainer, powerful audio for a corporate film or a complete sonic identity for a podcast, I take care of all of it. With more than 20 years in sound design, music composition and audio post-production, I keep innovating and surprising my clients.
Music
At CHUNCK I produce bespoke soundtracks and memorable sound logos. Orchestral, acoustic, electronic.. anything is possible. I can also help you find the best fitting stock music, so there is something for every budget.
Audio post-production
With my expertise in audio restoration, helped along by A.I., I make sure that even poorly recorded material or older takes sound fresh again. My focus on precision and my eye and ear for detail lift every project to a higher level.
Mixing
Think of mixing as the intelligibility of the voice-over in your corporate film, the overall balance of a 5.1 cinema mix, or the perfect mix for a radio or TV commercial that stands out in a break. I also regularly mix podcasts, so every speaker is easy to understand and you don’t keep reaching for the volume. CHUNCK has the knowledge and experience to make the audio under your production sound its very best.

Who is Christiaan Unck
I am Christiaan Unck. Freelance sound designer and composer for media: TV, animation, radio, online, corporate film, theatre and more. My passion lies in creating that perfect moment where sound and image come together.
As a child I was inspired by sixties pop music and by abusing my mother’s pots and pans, and I decided to combine the music in my head with my passion for computers. A nerd before the word existed, I started out making music for demos and games on the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga. In 2002 I graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts as an applied composer and sound designer.
After working in various studios in Hilversum, Amsterdam and Vught, I went freelance in 2019 in sound design, music composition and audio post-production for my own company CHUNCK, within the studios of Audiocult.
Alongside that I work as a sound designer and composer at Studio Make.
Beyond that: my family, Belgian music festivals and an incurable weakness for equipment with too many knobs.
